Transmission problems, 01 Honda Accord 214,000 miles?
When I start my car and put it into drive my car jerk once or twice then I drive and it doesn't shift right sometimes it gets stuck in a gear and I have to come to an almost complete stop and start going again for it to go into the right gear, the engine will rev up but the car won't move any faster. Could it just be a busted solenoid or could my whole transmission be going out? How can I tell the difference?
You got the worst generation of Honda ever. They got a bunch of bad transmissions that fail regularly.
It has over 200K miles on it. That year Accord had an extended warranty to 60,000 miles on the transmission because they had bad torque converters. I know, I had one and got a free tranny.
This is my suggestion. DO NOT take it to a place like AAMCO. They are a transmission store, and have a huge markup on parts. Find an automatic transmission shop that is ATRA certified.

- Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
- When should a 2012 Honda Civic need its transmission fluid changed, or serviced? The vehicle has 83,000 miles? Lots of highway driving for a three year old car. Drives perfectly, no problems, just trying to look ahead.
- Should I get a transmission flush on my 2001 Honda Accord DX with 165,000 miles on it? Well it's more like should I buy my friend's 2001 Honda Accord DX with 165,000 miles on it? He told me that there's nothing wrong with the transmission, but since the car is old that I might need to flush out the transmission.
