What are some affordable modifications I can make to my car to improve performance and maybe spruce the?

I have a white1995 Honda Accord Ex wagon with 225 miles in it. It has a few rust spots and requires some basic maintenance, which I'll take care of myself. I'm going to add a cold air intake and am looking for other things I could do to customize my car so it's something I like to drive. I'm not looking to spend big bucks but if there are any good ideas I'm willing to the work? Also I'd like cover up the the white worn out paint.

Use a de oxidizer and polishing compound on the paint with an orbital buffer after conditioning it. IT may brighten up after that. Don't grind on it with any rubbing compounds while its brittle (dried out). It has to be conditioned first. Meguiars 7 is a good conditioning product. Give it a good wash first, claybar to remove remaining debris in the paint, then conditioner. The de-oxidizer will eliminate any dark marks that white cars tend to get from micro scratches, like there under the door handles.

headlights, tint and wheels are popular mods. Its probably too late to benefit from seat covers if it already has gone 225k without them. Replacing the suspension if the car bounces, will make it a smoother ride.

OH OH OH! And you must sound-proof it. After sound-proofing it will sound like a lexus inside… Meaning nothing! Do not use the pitch based construction roofing materils that some people use in order to cut costs… It smells very bad and its a huge mess… Use the real stuff. And while you're at it with all the carpeting pulled out, power wash the carpets.

It's a 21 year old car. Do what you need to do to keep it running and be happy with it.

NO. I don't care WHAT you are driving, there are no affordable modifications that improve performance.

  • What can I do to my car to improve it's look? I have a 2003 honda element. I already put a new grille on it and running boards. What can I do to it to improve it's appearance both interior and exterior?
  • What are some affordable cars I might like? I'm going with my dad to test drive some cars tomorrow, and I'm trying to create a list of cars I might be interested in test driving. Even though I'm planning on buying a used car, I'm buying the car myself, so it needs to be somewhat affordable. I tend to like cars that look unique and different. Here are some styles of cars I like: 2013 Volkswagen Beetle 2013 Chevrolet Spark 2012 Kia Soul 2013 Honda Fit Mini Cooper Countryman
  • What's a good and affordable Car Insurance in California? I just got a 2007 Honda Civic from a used car lot. I obviously need insurance and this is my first car. Any help on what kinda insurance I should get? Do I need down payment and how much would it be for that and monthly payment?
  • What are some performance mods I can add to my 09' Honda Civic Si without hurting the lifespan of it too much? I will be commuting 50mi. Each way once college starts this summer so I won't be able to add any sort of turbo/supercharger. I'm planning on getting an intake, throttle body, and headers. Just wondering if I can do anything else besides those listed ^ :)
