- What are the requirements for Viper Smart Start? I Have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex. And i'm thinking about getting the viper smart start, because i like and and i would really get a joy out of it. But i don't know what year cars it works on, is a 2000 to old? Or does it work for any car? And i have a check engine light on will that have any affect on it because my car runs fine.
