Very doubtful. Mid-sized sedans such the the Accord and Camry tend to be the least expensive vehicles to insure.
The '92 is throwaway if in an accident. You won't get anything out of it.
Because 1992, that's why.
You're thinking that the Vette should be more expensive because it definitely meets the sports car classification, right? Because sports cars always cost more to insure than anything else, because they're sports cars, right? Of course I'm right, because why else would you even be asking this question.
Well, get ready for this. With most insurance companies (and by most I mean all of them except one or two), there's no sports car classification. It's a pure myth, just like the red paint surcharge.
If you have a 1992 anything, you probably won't be able to make it out of your driveway with the engine still running. That's why it's cheaper to insure.
If coverage's are the same, I doubt that the Corvette insurance IS cheaper. I suggest you study the quotes and compare coverage's.
I ran into this issue when I priced insurance and it was backwards of what you said. The premium was twice for a Z06 compared to a 2010 LS3 Camaro (4 year diff back in 2010), maybe they underrated the Camaro? The used Z06 was $10K cheaper but no way on the insurance for me and I'm 50+. They must really rate that 92 low on the scale or you were misquoted.
- How many miles per gallon does a motorcycle give? Much cheaper than a car? Some idio actually said a while back that a motorcycle doesn't really give that many more miles per gallon than a car! This honda Rebel gives 84 miles per gallon! http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/...l-250.aspx And an msrp of only $4000 makes it a steal! Plus the legendary reliability of a honda!
- 1980 honda cb750 insurance cost for 18 year old? I'm planning on getting a honda cb550-750 from 1970-1980 to turn into a cafe racer. Without doing any quotes, can anyone give a reasonable estimate on insurance cost? It won't be daily driven, little miles per year, and is over 25 years old. Also I'm 18, but can it be insured under my father and I can still use it?
- My friend thinks his Corvette C6 is faster than my 97 Honda Civic, what is the most polite way to tell him he is wrong? I've got a decat pipe and a racing exhaust system that probably add at least 300 horsepower to the wheels, but he still thinks his fully stock C6 would beat it lol.
- Is insurance on 4 dr. Car always cheaper than a 2 dr. Car? I'm 19 and looking at cars. I'm not looking at anything fast. I don't want to end up buying a 2 dr. Geo Metro hatch or Honda Civic to save gas if I have to pay insurance like I drive a sports car! Are 2 door cars always considered 'sports cars' insurance wise?
