Will a new Honda Accord be as reliable as a 1997 Honda Accord?
My dad has had Honda Accords since 1977. Now his 1997 Accord has over 350,000 miles on it and he wants to buy a new one but he's nervous that a new one won't be as reliable as his old ones.
Since no one has 350k miles on a '15 Accord, obviously there's no statistical data. They're not building them any worse than they used to, but the machinery and the attendant electronics are a lot more complicated today, so if he's buying with the idea of keeping it until 2033, he's probably going to be disappointed.
Probably not. Honda's glory days of the 90s are long over and most of Honda's lineup has gone downhill, including the Civic and the Accord.

- What is the most reliable and durable new small car in production? For this question, I'm talking about smaller 4 door passenger cars like the honda civic, toyota corolla, nissan versa, hyundai accent, etc. Hatchbacks are also included (even though companies label them as having 5 doors). Out of all the different models on the market, which manufacturer produces the most durable and reliable car?
- Is it a good deal to buy brand new honda civic 2015 for $18000 OR brand new honda civic 2016 for $22,500? I chose 2015 honda civic for $18000 because I wanted to keep my monthly payments low. Did I save money here?
