Would an alignment help this issue?

So I just bought a car Friday. It's a 1996 honda accord coupe. My front left (drivers side) tire seems to be pushed back a bit. Like closer to the back of the wheel well rather than the center. The car pulls to the left as well so I'm sure I need an alignment but what would cause my tire to be pushed so far back and not in the center of the wheel well like the other wheels?

It seems like if it were pushed back maybe 2 inches or so it would be rubbing the plastic in the wheel well.

This is MAJOR accident damage! No "alignment" is going to fix this. The parts in the suspension are BENT, and probably more than that. You can't drive it like that. This is a huge problem. It won't go away by itself.

Best money spent? See the i-car body shop in your area. They use some equipment that can measure, pull, replace parts, realign.
get one guy on it start to finish and replace the bent arm, fix the body where it attaches and check the strut, check the steering.

It's possible the vehicle has accident damage. You will want to inspect the suspension and frame for damage or bends.

Alignment will only move the suspension very little, and probably would not fix the issue you are having.

Get the damage repaired first, then go for the alignment.
