Any odomoter issues with 2009 Pontiac G6 SE?
Within the last week I purchased a 2009 Pontiac G6 from Honda Of Fishers in Indiana. Today I've noticed that no matter how far I drive, the odomoter reading doesn't change. I went back to check the carfax report and noticed that it states the mileage as being 100 miles more than what the car reads. Could this mean that the dealership messed with the car to make it seem like it has low mileage? Is this something that can be fixed? And what legal recourse can be taken against them if that is the case?
The dealers are either innocent or corrupt. If you want it investigated, contact your state attorney general's office. If the car runs fine, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Cars now can have giant mileage readings and run fine if, and only if, they've been kept up by the previous owner or by the dealer.
Its your baby now, you bought it "as is" and its up to YOU to fix it now. Theirs no telling how many miles its got on it. The good thing is… When you sell it, it will have low miles.
Sounds like the odometer broke. You can't presume the dealer messed with it. Fix it or don't, its your choice.
It's highly unlikely that the dealer rolled back the miles on purpose since 100 miles doesn't change the value of the car at all. What it does mean is the odometer isn't functioning properly and the dealer needs to fix it.
I would ask for my money back.
