Are Honda Preludes good cars?
I'm looking to buy a car that I can own for a long time. I want to know if the Prelude is a good car overall. I know the specs, but I want to know from people if it is a good performer, is it easy to work on, is it maintenance heavy, are parts hard or expensive to find? I'm not going to rice rocket the car, but I would like for it to be in toop shape.
Added (1). I'm referring to the 5th gen mostly, with some afterthought to the 4th gen
They stopped making the Prelude in 2001. 4th gen cars go all the way back to 1992. That means the absolute newest Prelude you could buy is already 13 years old. An old car is only as good as the previous owner's maintenance schedule. If that car has been well cared for, it hasn't been abused and it hasn't been over modified it will be a decent car. As good as any 13 year old car can be. The amount of money you spend maintaining this car is directly related to how much the previous owner(s) spent maintaining it.
In general Honda makes a good product, they are engineered well and they are easy to work on and parts are plentiful.
If you want this car to be in top shape two things have to happen. You either have to spend a lot of money up front, buying a very clean, low miles, restored car or you have to spend a lot of money bringing the car back to it's former glory.
Unless you have the tools and training… Stay away from the older cars.
- Why do auto preludes suck? Why does everyone say that automatic honda preludes are so bad and they break so much as opposed to a 5 speed prelude? What's so bad about the auto ones
- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Is it better to sell Cheap cars or Expensive cars? As a car salesman? Some people would think cheap cars but people with bad credit get declined often. I know this because my credit sucks and i'm almost always declined for cars. I'm sure this makes it tougher to get a sale right? This has me thinking, i want to sell cars. Should selling luxury cars like mercedes and bmw be better than selling hondas and toyotas?
- Looking into buying a used car. Which cars should I avoid and which cars should I pursue? I'm looking into the following Honda Civic years 2005-2010 Honda Fit years 2007-2010 Toyota Corolla years 2005-2010 Toyota Yaris years 2007-2010 Toyota Echo years 2005
