Buying a new 2015 Honda CR Z?

DCH asking price is $22,953 and I was wondering do you think it's possible to negotiate for $19,500 out the door?

Aside from a sizable rebate, there's not a chance of this happening. As of right now, there are NO rebates for the CR-Z. On average, there's only a 5%-7% markup between dealer cost (invoice) and MSRP. On a car that priced at $22,953, this is only $1147-$1606. Then you have to figure in tax, title, and license (on average, add around 8%), so, best case, selling at an invoice price of $21,347, plust TT&L ($1707), you're at $23,054 out the door. To get to $19,500 OTD, they'd have to sell the car for $17,940, which is a 22% discount off of MSRP. This is the equivalent of you selling a $100 bill for $80. Not ever going to happen.

Coming more that 20% off or MSRP is not going to happen. You can very easily determine just how much to pay by finding the automobile's true market value and exactly what others are paying for the same vehicle.

You can try bargaining, but it won't get you too far unless there are dealer or automaker incentives to help bring down the cost. The CRZ is a low volume production vehicle that isn't selling very well. You never know. My honest advice to you would be to not get a CRZ. Even a Honda Fit or Hyundai Veloster has better sporting credentials. The CRZ simply does not live up to reputation of its inspiration - the Honda CRX of the 80s. Acceleration times and gas mileage are still around the same if not worse - all this self defeating "technology" has merely added 500 lbs of weight and decreased its sporting credentials.
