Can my truck keep up with a Nissan Altima or Mazda 3 under the right circumstances?

In the past I've owned a 98 Altima gxe 4 spd as my first car and a 2006 Mazda 3 I touring 5 speed. I wished I couldve kept them but unfortunately I had to give them up to do the mechanical issues and expense it has been giving me in the past. So I just gave them up.

However, as of now I drive a 2003 Honda Element ex 4 spd aumto and that car, I inherited that from my dad as he bought it off the lot brand new since I was a child. The truck has definitely been reliable and cost efficient as pretty practical for what it is but on the flip side, I'm kind of dissappointed as one aspect. It's the performance side of it. Out the two ECONOMY cars that I've owned, they had pretty good peppy and handle pretty well for their size and power, ESPECIALLY the Mazda 3. Now coming from a car and migrating to a truck makes me think if I should even sell it. I'm NOT looking to buy a performance car(high speeds exceeding 160 mph), I just want something that can handle and accelerate as good as these two cars I had.

My question between the cars I had, could my truck keep up with these two cars on the highway. Say I got into a high speed chase with these two cars, and I HAVE to speed for whatever reason, how will my truck fare against these two cars?

Nope!

The Nissan Altima troll strikes again.

2003 Honda Element troll strikes again. And the Honda Element is NOT a truck Mark. Honda sells the Ridgeline. That is A truck.

Why is the answer no?

  • What is this sound coming from under the truck brand new 2018 honda ridgeline after I did the wheel alignment? When I back up It has that quick initial metal stretching sound and I only noticed it after the alignment was done. What is it and how should I fix this?
  • Could a Honda keep up with a Mazda and a Nissan? I'm comparing a 2003 Honda Element ex awd automatic. My question, is on the highway if the drivers were in a 1998 Altima Gxe and 2006 Mazda 3( 5 speed) and they were trying to get away from me, would my vehicle be able to keep up with them? In terms of performance, how would my truck do against these two cars?
  • Nissan Altima (2015) vs Toyota Camry (2014.5) vs Nissan Sentra (2015). Which is best ride on the market now? I'm looking to buy a new car 0.0% financing and these are the only companies that offer 0.0% financing on new and old cars. ( i know honda civic is great but they offer 0.9% finance). I want a car that is a smooth ride, fuel effecient and car that will last me a long time. Overall, a good car. These are my top three cars NISSAN ALTIMA, TOYOTA CAMRY and NISSAN SENTRA? which one do you guys think is the best? i'm open to suggestions…
  • Can a 2015 honda civic keep up with a nissan altima? Lets say both drivers where two on the freeway, one guy driving a 2015 honda civic and the other one driving a 1998 altima. The driver of the 1998 altima is speeding around 100-105 mph @3500 rpms only. My question is could a honda civic keep up with the old altimas performance? I'm asking bc since the civic isn't in the same class as the altima, i'm wondering how the new civic would do aganisnt the old altima. The altima itself in great mechanical condtion.
