Can/Should I use Esurance so I have to pay a deductible instead of cash for an accident even though the Esurance policy was cancelled?

A=Accident/E=Esurance/D=Deductible/L=Lis…
My 90s Buick L plate scraped the back of a 10s Honda +/- month ago (3 scrapes but to eliminate the possibility of me downplaying the damage just say 3 square inches of scratched paint). I looked at his damage and asked him if I could just give him $60 for it and if that was legal. He took a pic of the scapes and both my L plates and got my E info. I asked how much the A would cost me and he said he'd take it to his mechanic to get a Q and I could decide to pay it all or give it to E and only have to pay the D.
I tried to get his E info and he diverted doing it until he drove away. I didn't take down his L plate # either. So what he said he could (or would) give me was his full name and phone #. I haven't gotten his Q in the mail yet. Two weeks after this my L got revoked for a DWI/5th Deg. Poss. That happened 2-3 weeks before the accident. 2 weeks after my L got revoked I cancelled E and plan to sell the car.

?: 1Will E still cover the "damages" for the A even though I cancelled E policy a week ago? 2How long do Qs usually take to come in the mail? 3Would my no longer pending charges affect this? 4What type of liability is this? 5Here can I find the D for this A in E's coverage details? 6Will E send someone to look at the damage and give him the Q? 7Does he have to get it? 8Was he hoping I wouldn't get E involved so I'd pay all that cash? 9Is there potential to barter with this guy for less cash than E's D?

There's no deductible for a liability (third party) claim. It won't cost you a dime if your insurance company pays for the damage to the other guy's car. If you have Collision coverage, and choose to fix your car, then, and only then, would a deductible be required.

I A don't E understand Z your M question Y because K it is so full of W letters that are O meaningless to P most people.

I suggest that you rewrite the question(s) in comprehensible English.

They walk among us.

Even though the DUI occurred before the accident your license was revoked after the accident. They can't backdate the revoking so the policy was still in force at the time of the accident and you can use it.

1. Yes
3. No
5. There's no deductible. The deductible is what you pay when you use your insurance for damage to your car. When it's for liability for what you did to someone else, there's no deductible. You pay nothing.
8. No. You'd pay less cash if you didn't get E involved. If you get it involved, then you will pay more, just right away. Because of having a liability claim, a revoked license, a DWI, and this accident with insurance involved, the next time that you do get insurance, it will cost several thousand dollars more than normal.

  • I have a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE. It won't start even though the battery is charged. What can I do? I just got the battery charged and the bike still won't start. I can hear it trying but it just won't catch. I know very little about engines but could it be the fuel pump or carburetor that needs to be cleaned or replaced. If so, how do I do that?
  • Can i get a motorcycle loan with no credit no cosigner but cash down? I'm looking at a Honda CBR and a Harley Davidson. The CBR is $3800 and the Harley is $5500. I can put between $1000 and $1500 down. Do you think this will be enough to get me a loan. I'm working fulltime and make enough to cover all my bill's. I just haven't established my credit yet. I don't know if it is relevant but I'm 19 years old
  • Can i change the vehicle on my insurance policy? I currently ride a Yamaha ybr125 motorbike and I've been looking at a Honda cbr125r. I want to get the cbr but the insurance on my ybr was paid for the full year. Is there any way I can get the cbr to replace it on the same policy?
