1992 Honda Civic Dx 5 Speed Oil Leak

Ok so I recently got a new engine installed in my car. The engine is a D15B7. 4 cylinder 1.5L My problem is the Distributor cap seems to be leaking oil at the very bottom of it. I have a random picture from google that I will show area that is leaking. We replaced all the gaskets. And While driving My car automatically dies. It only happens when i go into neutal and slow down. Could this be the problem? Also I checked the valve cover gasket its fine. Also my vacumes are all good as well. No other leaks besides at the distributor cap at the bottom not the top or sides only the bottom. You probably have a failing Ignition Control Module (located inside the distributor) due to the oil leak. Hondas are NOTORIOUS for this part failing, on my Acura Integra I kept a spare in the glove box. The distributor shaft is worn, allowing oil to go into the distributor body. A used distributor will fix your problem. Change the ignition rotor before you install it, the screw always gets stuck in the shaft and can be a pain to get out in the car.

  • Is it hard to do an oil change on a 1992 honda prelude automatic transmission? So i have an automatic 92 honda prelude. Its a 2.2l engine non vtech, and I've been wondering if i should do an oil change on the tranny. Main questions i have are, is it hard? Would i need to change the filter? Or simply just drain out the oil and add new oil in? Any help will be well appreciated. I want to do this on my own i don't want to spend over 100 dollars at an auto shop lol.
  • Honda Rebel 450 oil leak? Left side of my 86 Rebel 450 seems to be leaving a little spot of oil right next to my kick stand. Bottom of crankcase cover has a little oil on it as well. Before i pull the cover, What is the leak likely coming from?
  • Honda owners: is there a difference in top speed between 4 speed and 5 speed element? My car is an 03 auto awd ex. I'm just curious, what top speed before drag effect comes into Affect? Can it achieve over 100 mph? I've heard that it can do 1-10 but I'm not sure whether that's for the 5 speed or the automatic bc the extra gear makes a difference in my opinion.
  • Freeway driving more difficult to drive speed limit than to speed? Driving on freeway slower its more difficult than driving faster is it because the car is lighter or higher rpms give you more control or what i drive a fwd stock Honda thanks it's a lot easier to drive at 80 than 60
