1998 Honda Civic LX Bad Head Gasket?

So I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX. I bought her off my grandma two years ago. Today she has 71,212 miles on her.

I had her into Honda and they believe she is burning coolant internally. They check for leaks but her pressure is solid. They said to keep an eye on it and when I get ms worse they've an diagnose it and repair if I want.
I've put a lot into this car:
New- Radiator
Water pump
Exhaust pipe
Muffler
Ingnition switch
Timing belt

I think it's time to start looking at getting another car, but want your thoughts on it.
Anyone have experience wigs Blue Devil products.

Get a mechanic to test the head gasket using a chemical analyzer.

Don't use Blue Devil or any silicate sealer like Liquid Glass. K&W and CRC make better sealer if you need it. But if Honda is right about leaking internally one of two things will happen. If it's getting into the oil it will be Milky. If it's getting into the cylinders you'll blow White Smoke. And you didn't say you're loosing coolant out of your Reservoir. So I don't know why anyone would question the Head Gasket. But if you have a Single Overhead Cam Head (SOHC) you can check and/or re-torque the Head Bolts.

Just fix it. You planned. Properly it in an afternoon (minus head getting inspected/planed).

  • Would it be, a bad idea for me to try and fix a blown head gasket? Its for a honda. Stock d16 aftermarket rims and is 1500 with a blown head gasket. My dad is the best honda mechanic in my town. He would be guiding me through it. Also the car had 137k miles and good paint. How much would it be worth if it was fixed?

  • Worth buying a honda civic si with replaced head gasket? Looked at a 2008 honda civic si that has 73,000 miles the car was flawless inside and out. Then the owner told me it blew the original HG. He took it to a machine shop and then did the rest of the work himself. And now runs fine. Is this car still worth buying or should I walk away?
  • Honda Civic 2000 blown head gasket. Worth fixing? I have a Honda Civic 2000 4door and I believe I had blown a head gasket. It isn't running and its leaking water/coolant. I'm not sure if it is worth fixing or just selling and moving on. Also not sure how much it would be.
