2001 Honda civic burning oil quickly. Diagnosis?
Have a 01 civic at 179k. Got an oil change few weeks ago. Hit 750 miles driving and noticed oil was really low. Poured a quort in. Next day drove around a little. When I took out the dip stick, some white fumes came out from under the engine. Stuck dip stick back in, took it out and same result. No leaks on floor. Anybody have an idea?
Well, it's either burning or leaking oil unless your neighbor is stealing it at night.
Well it is an 01 honda, despite what the japanese fan boys say they really don't last that long
Have you ever think about the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system? Something as simple as the PCV valve or its hose?
- Why my bike is heating very quickly? I'm using hero honda passion pro, i have changed engine oil on feb, it was over heating very quickly i had traveld only 1000km after oil change… And oil is turned black, what is the problem…
- How much (and how quickly) will running appliances on my Honda Ridgeline's power outlet drain my battery? I'm looking into using two speakers that use around a total of 800-900W for about 2-3 hours. They will be plugged into a 120W adapter from my 12V power outlet in my 2007 Honda Ridgeline. If the vehicle is off and running this then how long will the battery last? Would it work if the engine was on? I'd love to see a formula as to how to equate this, but I have no clue what it would be.
- Why is my oil level going down so quickly? I have a 2006 Honda crv with about 84k. I have been noticing that it is seeming to go through oil rather quickly. I replace it every 3k. I really don't think there's a leak, but I'm not a mechanic. Just troubleshooting maybe?
- Oil Change: Honda Motor Oil Vs Generic oil, does it make a difference? I have been getting oil changes with Honda motor oil for 15 years on my 2002 civic that now has 132K miles. If I switch to a generic $10 oil change garage shop will it still be ok? I know the Honda filters are better then the cheapest generic ones but how about the actual motor oil?
