2004 Honda Civic Ex A/C Troubleshooting?

I'm trying to fix my car s a.c. System. When i turn on a.c. Clutch and turn it on the car blows warm air. When i check the a.c. Compressor it is not running and the a.c. Fan is not running also. Where do I start to troubleshoot it. I'm thinking is there power in the system or is it just low Freon?

Low on freon, theirs a built in "low pressure cut out" in the compressor to keep you from burning the compressor up. If you hook up a set of gauges to it, you can tell if thats why it isn't engaging.

90% of the time it's low 134a in the system. Buy a can of 134a with the sealer for the o-rings and charge the system with it. If the system kicks in once you start filling it out a thermometer in the center vents with the air flow set there and charge the system until you have 38 degree F air coming out of the vents. If you need another can of 134a buy the next one with NO sealer in it.

Engine running, turn on AC. Check for incoming 12V to the clutch coil. If there's 12V, check for a good coil ground. Coil is bad if both power and ground are present. If there's no power, check the charge with a manifold gauge.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T DO IT! Take your car to a REAL mechanic and pay to have the job done right the first time. It's a lot cheaper to do it that way rather than spending more time fixing what YOU screwed up.
