2007 Honda Civic SI Sedan with 116,812 miles alot?
Parents said i can get a new car but i have to keep under their budget of $14,000. Found a cool looking 2007 Honda Civic SI sedan (never liked the coupes) with around 116K miles. Is that alot of miles for that year? They're asking around 13k for it but they said price is negotiable. What would a good price be? Were there any problems with that year, and do you think thats a good year car for college? It looks really nice and has custom rims, and the interior is really clean too, I just want to make sure i don't but a bad car lol.
Uh, I can buy a truck or SUV with that mileage for that price. That's a good car, and 116K is high mileage, but not "don't buy it" high mileage. But $13000 for a 7 year old Civic with over 100K miles on it? Sounds way high. Go to KBB.com, cargurus.com, and Autotrader.com and see what similar cars are selling for.
I mean if it has always been revved high like I mostly think it has it should still be ok tho it still has lots if life left and will be an awesome first car because it's fast and reliable and good on gas and that year the K20 high revving engine it's awesome. Specially the vtec crossover. Just look it up on YouTube
A mileage of 116,000 miles in no problem for a Honda that has been well taken care of. You can easily get 200,000 miles without major repairs. If it was not taken care of then that can be high mileage. It is all about how the car was treated and how the maintenance was performed and when. This model year Civic has no problems at all and it is extremely dependable. Model years 2006 to 2010 are all dependable with no problems except the 2009 which did have some engine issues. Avoid the 2009 model. As to the price of $13,000 that is way too much for this car. Average clean retail for this car is $11,650. I would offer them $11,000 which is a fair price for this car if it is in excellent condition. I would pay not more than that no matter what they are asking. They know they are too high and now you do to. Make sure you spend a little money and have the car inspected by a trusted professional to avoid getting a lemon. A flood car can look great but will be a nightmare over time. Also a car can be in a severe wreck and look great after it is repaired. You do not want to buy either type car. Talk to the previous owner which the dealer must provide for you. They can tell you how the car was maintained.
If it has been well maintained (i.e regular oil changes, etc), you can get another 100,000 on it or better. You should look up the blue book value of the car based on its features, model and year. 13,000 seems like a lot even if its in excellent condition. Search blue book on the web and check it out.
Don't hesitate to offer a significantly lower amount, let them make a counter offer. Also, be sure to check if it needs tires etc. That could add significantly to the cost of the car.
- My honda 2001 honda 400ex started smoking and lost alot of power? It smokes pretty badly like a 2 stroke and doesn't have power like it used to. Could it just be the head gasket it does have a litte oil around it? Or could it be more serious valves and rings?
- Would you buy a used 2010 Honda Civic sedan with 107k miles on it? It appears to be in great condition… Clean CarFax, only one owner (he leased it and then he bought it afterwards). Has 107,000 miles on it, and he's asking $8500. Is it worth it? He said that they were all highway miles driving to and from work mainly
- Should I buy a 2008 honda civic ex-l that has 100000 miles or a honda civic lx that has 82k miles? The honda civic ex-l has only one owner and the honda civic lx is from a dealer. They're fairly the same price
- Is 86,000 miles a lot for a 2009 Honda Civic LX Sedan? I got a approved for a $12,000 car loan and I wanted to get a 2009 honda civic LX sedan with 86k miles for $11,890. Is that too many miles?
