2012 Honda Civic EX 1.8 4 Cyl Fan Blower problem?
I have had my car just over a year now, its always made a low roaring noise when I turn on the AC or heat, but I never paid it any attention considering it seemed to work just fine. Lately the noise has been getting louder and seems to roar up and down, the air output seems to be concurring with the noise level, but I think something is about to give out, I'm assuming the fan blower? Since the 2012 has 37K miles on it, the warranties are up, how can I get this fixed at a cost effective method. I'm not good with mechanic car stuff, so it wouldn't be a great idea for me to go under the hood. Does anybody have any suggestions, aside from going to the dealer and letting them rip me a new one (money wise) ?
From your description it sound as though you have a failing blower motor. Take your Honda to a reputable local area automotive center, not the dealership, to have the motor motor replaced.
Do you have an extended warranty? Use that if you do. Otherwise go to the dealer, pay $100 for diagnosis and then at least you'll know what's going on

- How much would it cost to change an aircon fan blower? My car has recently started making an really annoying rattling noise coming from the far right fan. (left in america) The aircon itself is ice cold and i have no issues with it besides this, they've lubed the fan itself but they said if it doesn't stop i'll have to get it replaced. I just wondered if anyone had a rough estimate of price? The car is a 2005 Honda Jazz.
