2012 Honda Civic LX dead?

So it's my moms car that her and I use sparingly as a second car (she has a truck also). Well it's been just sitting in our driveway dead for over a month. 2 years ago we got the battery replaced at Honda dealer because at that time it still had the original battery that came with the car when it was new. Last summer during routine maintenance at Honda they told us the battery was bad and had to be replaced which was fine because they did it for free. Everything was fine with the car until now. I took it out for a drive on Aug 7 and it was raining that day but I didn't drive it more than 20 miles that day and I didn't hit any oversized puddles. Car ran fine like normal and I parked it turned off all the lights and locked it. 2 days later mom try's to use it and it's dead. No lights or clock were working and not even a clicking noise you hear when a battery dies. Absolutely no power at all. It's a well maintained car which is very puzzling that's only driven about 7 thousand miles a year or so. My mom doesn't have the spare cash to get it towed and fixed so that's why it's been sitting and she won't let me try and fix it either or at least order a tow myself. Just out of curiosity what could this be?

Could be the alternator is not charging the battery. If you have jumper cables, you can use the truck to jump start the car. Look at Youtube videos on how to determine if the alternator is bad.

It sounds like your battery is dead again. Many auto parts stores will test your battery for free. If the car runs after replacing the battery, you might want to have it checked to see if something is draining the battery, when it's off.

In my experience the dome light switch has been moved so that the dome light stays on permanently instead of switching off (shortly after you get in your house - so you do not notice*). "Jump" the battery or take it into a parts store for a charge and the car should run. {Auto parts stores can also test alternators.} * or a similar occurrence like parking light left on, door ajar, trunk light stayed on, . Also (rare but) possible this battery did flake out on you.

Call amobile mechanic.

Most likely it's the starter.

I suspect the fusible link on the battery is blown.
