2013 civic-TPMS recalibration?

I just bought a used 2013 Honda Civic. The second day I was driving it I got a warning saying check Tire pressure management system. The car had new tires put on it just before I purchased it so from what I see on the internet, the system just needs to be recalibrated to adjust to the new tires. I looked on YouTube and in all the videos they say you can do it yourself by going to
>menu
>settings
>TMPS
>calibrate
Unfortunately TPMS is not an option in my car under settings. Has my car been tinkered with or is it possible that not all 2013 civics have this feature? It's an EX. When I called the people I bought the car from they said not all civics have this feature and one of my tires probably just needs air because it's gotten cooler out recently. Does this sound right? Any suggestions?

If you've got the warning then your car has a TPMS system fitted.

First, check the tyres. Have they had flexible rubber valve stems fitted? If so then the tyre shop fitted cheap regular valves. TPMS valves have non-replaceable batteries built in which typically last a maximum of about five years, less if the TPMS valve has to signal the car that it has low volume.

Some TPMS systems can't be calibrated: the valve itself is set to the correct pressure range for the vehicle before installation, or is manufactured with a fixed range.

If you find that you have no TPMS valves then depending upon the vehicle roadworthiness laws where you live, you may need to get them fitted. They're not cheap, but aftermarket ones cost less than originals. If you have got them then check with the last owner whether they were replaced: most people selling a car put the cheapest rubber they can buy on the car and don't bother with TPMS.

If you run with no TPMS your insurer must be informed.

Go to a tire shop like Firestone and ask them to read your monitors with their TMPS computer. Maybe the batteries died in them. Maybe the previous owner removed the monitors.

  • Speedometer recalibration cost? From 195/65-15 to 205/65-16… Does the calibration… Does it cover by warranty my car has warranty or would i have to pay? This will be done at my Honda local dealer
  • Reseting TPMS on a Honda Fit 2012? My tire pressure light came on and I pumped some air at a local gas station to the correct psi. A week later, the light is still on? Does it manually reset or is there like a button that helps reset it? Also, is there a possibility I have a small leak or a nail embedded in the tire? I'm a car noob, btw haha.
  • TPMS light/Honda Civic 08? I had a tire with a nail in it for a while and it would go low about every 3 weeks, and the TPMS light came on. I've gotten the tire changed and the light is still on. Do I have to go to the dealer to solve this problem or is there any other less expensive solution?
  • Should I trade my 2013 Honda Civic EX with a 2011 Mercedes C300? I have a 2013 Honda Civic Ex with only 6000 KM on it. I bought it brand new for around $24000. but now I regret not following my heart and not buying the Mercedes C300. Would you trade in your new 2013 Honda with a used 2010/2011 Mercedes C300 with around 50,000 KM on it? Why and why not?
