2014 Subaru BRZ or 2014 Honda Civic Si?
Okay so I'm a 17 year old senior in highschool and I'm looking to get a new car. I've been searching for a while and I've come down to 2 cars. 2014 Subaru BRZ and 2014 Honda Civic Si sedan. They both have 7000 miles on them. Both are the same price (the BRZ a couple hundred more) but not significant amount. Both 6-Speed manuals. Both get the same MPG. I just can't decide which one I like more. Me being a 17 year old the cool little things go a long distance. Like the civic has pusy button start. And a nice sound system and room to carry friends. But the Subaru is just so much cooler looking. And I just love it. What do you think? Or if you think another car would be better please tell me.
It sounds like you just want a car for the cool features and not the actual performance of it. If you were serious about performance, you would realize that the BRZ is a much better car with RWD and an amazing weight distribution which makes it one of the best sports cars of the last 5 years.
the BRZ has an amazing ability to give the driver control even when they have little or no traction. This makes it great to drift and slide around in. In fact, Scion/Subaru put very skinny tires on it to make it easy to slide without having to go at dangerous speeds. To help its handling, the BRZ has a very low center of gravity. Its actually one of the lowest of any car competing with things like Ferraris. This is due to the fact that it has a boxer engine and that the car was designed to be great at handling from the start (the Civic is first and foremost a family car, the Si is just an upgraded civic).
also, to be perfectly honest, your drive in the BRZ was of little use. To really get the most out of that car, you have to have fun with it. Treat it like it's yours and really start pushing its performance envelope. This is where the BRZ shines. It has a level of refinement and balance that is typically only found on high end sports cars that cost a lot more money.
The brz over all is faster and can corner much better. At the same time if you want to you can also look at the scion frs which is the same exact thing except it looks worse( barely ). And the Toyota version I forgot what its called. You might find the frs cheaper
BRZ by a mile. The Civic is an old person's grocery getter--regardless of what letters are after the name. The BRZ is a true rwd sports car in the spirit of the 240SX and MX-5.
- Why do people buy low powered cars like Subaru BRZ and Honda Civic? These cars aren't cheap either like $10,000. So what's the point of buying these cars when you can add a bit more money and get much better cars?
- Which would win in a race, 2008 Subaru legacy sedan, or 2012 honda civic sport? I want to settle this without actually racing, the Subaru has more horsepower and a sport manual transmission, so I'm confident it will beat the honda civic sports coupe
- What is better a 2014 Honda Civic or 2014 Toyota Corolla? I'm looking at these cars in terms of price and more "bang for your buck." Both seem interesting to me and I have yet to test drive them. The Honda Civic seems like it is the better car based on reviews but the newly redesigned Toyota Corolla looks better than previous versions and is slightly cheaper than the Civic. Which one should I consider looking towards? Please do not mention any other car, I'm only focused on these two at the moment.
- Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 or Honda Civic type R? Thinking of selling my car to get something a bit more nippy and narrowed it down to these two options. So in your opinion what would be best to get overall in terms of performace out of these two cars? (Assuming they are similar price/mileage) Subaru Impreza turbo 2000- (not wrx) Honda Civic Type R- (2001-2005 model) Both stock engines with no upgrades.
