30,000 Mile Service for honda civic?
I purchased a brand-new honda civic about 3years ago but have only been driving on the weekends so it only has a little over 10,000 miles.
I know 30,000 mile service is pricy so I want to know if it's really necessary to do the 30,000 mile service or not for a vehicle that only has 10,000 original miles.
Please advise.
Follow the owners' manual. Have the 10,000 mile service done.
Those service per mileage things are marketing scams and that's all they are. If the vehicle doesn't need whatever's included in the 30k service there's no need to have it done therefore no need to eat the expense of it. It's a fool-monger tactic dealers use so they increase their profits. Whether the service is needed or not isn't their concern, they don't care, all it is to them is money coming in.
Check in to what the 30k service includes. It might include things you decide make it worth it for you like bushing and suspension parts replacements, it might include new tires and things like that for a package deal at a fraction of the cost of getting it all done otherwise.
Unlikely… But… You don't know unless you get the specific details if you haven't already.
If it doesn't need it there's no need to spend the money doing it.
Go by the service program they tell you to do.
You're not smarter than the Japanese people at Honda. It's not pricey either.
I bought brand new 2004 Honda CRV-EX in 2004 and I'm still driving it now. It has 211,000 miles and runs great. I followed all of the service instructions and never skipped an oil change.
My mechanic says that he wouldn't be surprised if I got over 300,000 miles or more out of it.
Rotate the tires at 15,000 miles.
Make sure you change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles or every 5,000 miles if using synthetic oil. If you follow the on board oil change reminder you go to long between oil changes and the adjustable cam actuator is liable to start sticking and throwing codes.
It does NOT need it but you NEED to change the oil and do the other maintenance requirements required using the TIME INTERVAL as stated in the owner's manual.
If the car has 10,000 miles why on Earth would you want to do a 30,000 service?
- Would you purchase a 2004 Honda pilot for $6,000.000 that has 216,000 miles on it? I'm just browsing online looking at cars for sale and a lot of them have 200k or more miles on them and they want $4,000 or more. Why do people sale their cars for such a high price with a lot of miles on them? Its not just Hondas its all types of cars private and dealers as well
- Honda cbr500r on a 1000+ mile tour? I'm thinking about taking my cbr500r to Vancouver and back. Would it make the trip? I'm planning on buying a new chain, bringing a extra chain with me, some chain lube, and oil along with my toolkit and clothes. Will it make it or should I rent a dedicated touring bike.
- If I don't service my new car for first 100,000 miles will it break down? Will just do synthetic oil changes every 15,000 miles + oil filter and air filter every 30,000 miles. No other services. Will my Honda last that long without any problems?
- 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000? Is this a good deal? I need to buy a new car and today I got an offer on a 2008 Honda Fit with 66,000 miles on it for $5,000. I'm a 19 year old girl and I know nothing about cars D: Are Honda Fits good cars? Should I buy this with so many miles already on it? Also, I like to travel. Will this car be safe to drive long distances?
