94 HONDA CIVIC NOT STARTING?
I bought this vehicle 2 days ago. The person I bought it from said only thing wrong with it was fan… I drove car first day n it seemed to run great. Started to over heat once but it was very minor. Yesterday I drove car to drive thru for lunch n when I tried to start it again it refused to start. After a while it started n I went back to work within a few blocks down street. After work it refused to start again. I hit the started a lil bit and It turned on. So I guess it needs a new starter now too? On the way home i pulled over to side of fwy to check under hood because the fan doesn't work. This time when i tried to turn it back on it doesn't even attempt To crank or make a clicking sound. When I turned key all the lights turn on like normal as it has a new battery but instead of the typical crank you hear it was silent with only 6 beeps before it went silent again n when turning key to try again it made one loud alarm type beep. It's been a few hours and there's no change. I got a jump start from a tow truck just in case but that wasn't the problem. Tried to put car in neutral. Shook car. And it remains the same. 6 beeps with no signs of it trying to turn on n 1 loud alarm like beep. Car didn't come with alarm control so I don't thinkit had one if that makes a difference. Not sure what else to try? Any suggestions?
1. Make sure the battery connections are clean and tight. (especially on a new battery.)
2. Leave it on a battery charger for some time or get a boost.
3. Go to the nearest shop that can test the battery and the alternator (sometimes a new battery is no good, and
sometimes people mistakingly replace the battery when the alternator is at fault.
4. May as well have them look at the fan, too. You may be able to drive all winter without a thought of overheating, but next spring you might forget to watch the guage as closely
Make sure the battery and its connections are good, check for a poor ground connection
Have an auto parts store test your battery and charging system after you charge your battery up fully. They test for free.
- Why is my car not starting? I have a 1992 Honda prelude is and I just got it out of the shop today! They replaced the timing belt, head gasket and some other gaskets. It was driving on my way home and I hit a pothole and it turned off. After that it drove home fine and now I'm trying to start it now and it won't turn off
- 1980 honda cm200 not starting after i removed and cleaned carb? The motorcycle turns over but will not start up i cleaned the plugs and there's an erratic spark everyone once in awhile coming from the stator
- Honda lawn mower starting, blade turning but not cutting grass? It's a Honda harmony 215 (hrb215) it starts on first pull, runs great, when you engage the blade it spins at full power, but when trying to cut grass it doesn't do anything. Doesn't even try to cut it. Have had it in knee high grass even and it doesn't do anything… Any ideas?
- Why might my car not be starting? We have a 2014 Honda Civic, we made 2 trips today and it was running fine. Started right up no problem. We were trying to go to sonic and it wouldn't start at all. The engine didn't turn over there was just a click. The radio still comes on, the door ding still happens, but when you turn the key the lights on the dash surge all weird. Anyone have any idea why it won't start?
