97 honda civic leaking brake fluid and a lot of white smoke?
97 honda civic leaking brake fluid and a lot of white smoke?
Well, one reason for this might be worn brake pads or brake shoes. If your vehicle has worn brake pads or brake shoes, the fluid level in your brake fluid reservoir will be low. On the other hand if you have new brake pads for your car then this leakage is in your braking system, which means issue is slightly serious. That would be a faulty master cylinder rubber seals worn which would allow the fluid to pass the seals and get sucked up into the air intake which would cause white smoke.
So you going to fog your neighborhood or go have a mechanic make sure your brakes are safe/!
".97 honda civic leaking brake fluid and a lot of white smoke?" is not a question. What's your question?
How do you know the Civic has brake fluid leaking? Have you tried to check or at least do your own inspection on the brake system, let alone testing or repairing? How the brake system performance? Where did you see the leak(s) at?
White smoke: Does the car has white smoke all of the time? Does the car have coolant loosing problem? Is the engine running hot? How is the engine running? Defected injectors will produce white smoke. Coolant burning inside the combustion chambers will do the same due to failed head gasket, cracked cylinder head etc
My suggestion is for you to scrap this "Thread", if it's one and start with a real one with proper questions, true description of the problem. Spend sometime and checking your Civic out or get someone know how to help you out. Be best: Get an "Estimate of repair" from a repair shop then we'll talk. HTH
- What kind of brake fluid does a 2 door honda civic dx use? My car just sprung a brake fluid leak. I parked it far away from my house so I can't check myself.
- Too much oil in engine, white smoke? I excessively overfilled my engine with oil (more than 5 quarts) in my 2001 Honda Civic EX. I drained the excess oil out after the car would not allow me to acclerate. After draining the excess oil and refilling it to its correct levels, smoke keeps coming out from the exhaust when the car is idle and when I drive it around the block for several minutes. The smoke is rather light in color (almost white or light grey). What could possibly be wrong with my car and how should I go about this?
- I replaced my engine in my car and white smoke comes out? I have a1997 honda civic ex and I had to replace the engine and it's blowing out white smoke from the exhaust
- Power steering fluid leaking from the base of the steering column? I have a 2002 Honda Civic and I noticed that there's power steering fluid leaking at the base of the steering column. I can't find anything about it online and don't want to take it to a mechanic if its something that I can figure out. Could this be the rack and pinion? Or is it just something simple? Anybody dealt with this issue before?
