A tune up for a 2012 honda civic?
I went to get a tune up the other day, oil change and tire rotation. I asked for a price and the lady said around $210 because my vehicle requires synthetic oil. I don't know much about cars but that price seemed ridiculous and I thought I was being taken for a fool. Anyway, if anybody can give me a proper estimate or confirm that this original price is accurate, that'd be great.

You said TUNE UP. That means replacing the spark plugs and wires. That accounts for about $150 of the $210.
The cost of a "tune up" compared to a oil/filter change and tire rotation are extremely different. An oil change and tire rotation, even with synthetic oil, should be no more than $100. A tune up, however, could cost hundreds, depending on wait all was performed.
Honda's with the Vtech engine require the synthetic oil, which will run you between 55 and 100 dollars. Tune-up would be new air filter (if needed) new cabin filters (if needed) and spark plugs. Spark plugs will run you around 25 dollars a piece or higher because the Vtech requires the titanium spark plugs.
They would replace wires, because most cars don't have conventional spark plug wires… I had one go bad, and just one was 75 dollars

- When is a Tune Up due on newer cars? I have a 3 year old Honda but it doesn't say when tune up should be performed. Just says to do it when the maintenance minder comes but it hasn't come on even after 70,000 miles!
- Is it possible to tune a Chrysler Sebring 2007? This question might be silly or unprofessional, but is it possible or would you recommend me in tuning my Chrysler Sebring 2007 2.4L V4. The tuning program that i would be using is Jet 68024 from 2.0 to above engine size and is compatible with my vehicle. If you wouldnt recommend it then why not, hondas are being tuned and programmed, gets nitros added and their engines are smaller than mine. Please let me know

- What would be a better car a 2012 Honda Civic or a 2012 KIA Soul? I'm going to buy one of those cars and I want to know the best things about them both. What do you guys recommend.
