Added 50/50 to radiator reservoir yesterday, found none in there about 32 hours later. What happened? Radiator still had 50/50?
About 2 days ago my car overheated unexpectedly for the first time when I found that my car had no water in the radiator (and reservoir as well) and very low oil. I last checked my radiator a month back and it was 3/4 full at least. My car usually goes at least 3 months without needing to add anything to coolant. I have a rear main transmission seal leak which I've known about for a while now, big job for $600+ for a 2000 honda civic and been advised by a mechanic not to even bother with it at this point since it's too costly for the value of the car. Did oil change and bleed out the radiator for at least 35 minutes same night.
Yesterday I added 50/50 to the reservoir about 3/5 of the way around 11 am. Today at about 6:40 pm I checked my reservoir and it was completely empty. I checked the radiator and it still had fluid in it. I'm assuming that it's a leak in the reservoir but my engine when I drive starts doing jerk motions when in traffic out of nowhere and it gets kind of scary at times. I noticed that when I turned off my AC that the vibrations aren't as scary, but still the same amount of frequency. I was thinking about changing the air filter and radiator cap but I feel like there could be more to it.
Car has served me well for the last 5 years and has only 153k (had 117k in 8/2014 when I first got it) and getting a new car isn't financially viable for me at the moment.
Any actual responses will be appreciated, thanks for reading and have a good day.
As engine cooled off, it refilled its low radiator from the reservoir.
The coolant in the reservoir was drawn into the engine. The next time you fill the reservoir up, it will probably not go down so far or so quickly. Keep the coolant and the oil topped up. It should not be going down at all. Maybe a blown head gasket? Things may not be perfect, but you can get along for quite some time if you keep those fluids topped up
Run the motor for 15 minutes with the radiator cap removed from the radiator. That will purge the air from the cooling system. If the coolant blows out of the radiator you have a bad head gasket and the motor is burning antifreeze. You should have a cooling system pressure test done and a "block test" to verify if the head gasket is bad.
- Passed CBT test yesterday, category A and Moped category P. What bike can I get? I'm getting really confused with the new 2013 law, i've read anyone aged 17 can ride a 125cc bike with CBT passed. I did the test on a moped yesterday i'm aged 18 19 in may 30th so can I ride 125cc Honda cbr road legal bike. now I read there's A1 test? Do I have to achieve this now to get the 125cc bike, or since i'm 18 i've reached the age legal requirements with a passed a CBT test and can go out and buy a spanking new bike 125cc.

- Honda crv 1998, automatic. Engine light came on yesterday. Still on today? Car cranks slower ever since engine light came on. Other then that car works fine. Last year I had my spark plugs changed and timing belt
- Oil in radiator& reservoir? I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX. 5 months ago, I had the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, 16 valves, thermostat, spark plugs, crank shaft seal (2x), oil pan, oil pump, exhaust manifold and a crank angle sensor replace. Now, I have oil in my radiator and reservoir. Did the mechanic forget something or can a head gasket blow up in 5 months?
