Am I in any place to ask for a lower car price when financing a new car?
My mom is getting me my first car and she has a credit score of 660. I wanted a 2016 Honda Civic coupe and on the internet price three days ago it was $19,000 then changed to 18,000 and now it's back up to 20,000. Because of my moms credit and no down payment, would we be able to negotiate the 18,000 again? Or lower?
If not, negotiate free oil changes, a loaner car when yours is serviced, etc
You and mom need to consider an older car--something about 5 years old or older. If the car has been well-maintained, it should last you a while. Take a mechanic that you trust with you when you're car shopping. With your mom's fair credit score, she's not going to qualify for a decent interest rate. I'd suggest she visit some banks and credit unions to see if she can get pre-approved for a loan. That way when the 3 of you (I'm including the mechanic) go looking for a car, you'll know how much you can spend on a car.
Never hurts to ask
Yea you should be able to. 660 is a good credit score, here is what you do go back and just tell the salesperson that you do like the car but you have found another one that you like just as much as this one and they will match your price at 18 but you had rather do business with him and if he can't help you out just tell him ok I tried see ya later and more than likely he will make a deal
I suggest you look for a less expensive car, where you can make a down payment & still have some money to pay fr insurance. By the way, 660 is a pretty low credit score.
With low credit and no down payment you aren't getting a loan. So negotiating for a lower price is irrelevant since you won't quality for the financing.
I suggest you look for a less expensive car
Sure, theyll just make their money back anyway when they kill you on the financing (if you can even get financed)
Not likely when they found out the credit rating and you don't have money up front, buy something for less money

- When can I trade in my car that I'm financing? I'm financing a 2012 Honda Civic with 30k miles on it for 6 years. I'm almost 20. The car was worth almost 13k but with interest of having new credit I'm paying 18k (240 a month). Am I able to trade in the car in like 3-4 years? What are my options for that. Please explain
- Help choosing between continuing my lease on my car or financing it? I currently drive a 2012 leased honda civic 3 year lease 12,000 miles per year limit. Here the deal. The lease will be up in September. I could either continue to lease it and then pay off the difference in value. Or I could get a new car and finance it for 6 years
