Automatic transmission to manual swap?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si and I bought it a few years ago. I bought it with only 131k on it and now it's about almost 160k. I wanted to get my exact same car but standard. Only issue is the ones I see have around 250-400k and the bodies are never in as good condition as mine is. I lucked out with this car. Is it worth it to just manual swap my car? I work in the automotive industry where it's easy to locate parts for cheap and also my boyfriend is a mechanic who can help me do the work when he has time. I know it's a process because I've seen it done before… But is it worth it?
I sometimes get my hands and massage my penls
It is 2019. Time to move on to the 2019 Honda Civic Si 6 speed. Life is short. Spend your time on the road, not in the garage.
I believe that the 2000 honda civic si never had an automatic. So whatever you got is probably fake rebadged si. I hope you did not overpay for it. A transmission swap would probably cost more then the vehicle is worth.
Installing a clutch is difficult and not worth the expense and effort.
Not worth it. Any money you spend doing that will be gone, and may lower what little resale value is left.
It will never be worth it money wise. To me people do it only for fun, to see if they can do it. Me, I would just try to find a SIR and drive that.
It's not worth it.
Not worth it. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper to find the car you want with a manual. You basically would need a whole parts car sitting in the driveway so you can get all the parts off the car that you would need
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- Can I do a manual transmission swap on a 1999 awd Honda cr v? A buddy of mine blew up the engine in his 1999 hona crv awd and hes gonna sell it for 500, so my question is If you had a 1999 automatic awd cr v can you swap a standard transmission? I know you would have to like drill a hole in the dash but would it work? And how much would it cost for a manual transmission and a new engine to be put on a AWD cr v Looking to spend about $1500 on parts
- What engines can I directly swap my D16y8 Honda motor for? It has to be more powerful and easy to swap? I have a civic with a d16y8 and its served me well but what motor could I easily swap in? I want to use the same gearbox but I don't mind swaping the ECU. The easier the swap and the more HP the better. Would prefer to use the stock manifold and intake etc.
- K20A3 swap into a 2004 Honda Civic EX-EM2. 4 Speed Automatic Transmission? I'm seeking information on this swap. I'm looking forward to swapping my D17 for a K series engine. I wanna swap in a K20A3 into my EM2. I've been doing some research and my car is a 4 speed automatic. And the K20 is 5 speed automatic. Thats one of the many things I think I'll hit when trying to do this swap. Can anyone help me out with more info on what I'm gonna need if I do this swap.
