Best rear brake shoes for my 97 Honda Civic HX?
I have a 97 civic HX and need to change by rear brake shoes and drums.
I was thinking about getting brembo drums and self adjusting hardware kit for each side but I'm looking for the shoes and I wanted to know the best kind I could buy that s built with great quality parts and could compare to ceramic brake pads.
I need one that has good stopping power.
Not worth anything other than stock. If you need to upgrade do the fronts and then a rear disc conversion. But the fronts do all the work.
- Why do motorbike brake shoes have springs that snap them shut? . When the brake is released? I've taken them off the rear drum brake of my Honda 250 scooter and the brake is much more powerful as I'm not wasting effort overcoming the inertia of the springs. What a silly invention in the first place!

- Problem with 1999 Honda Accord Rear Brake? We heard a grind in our 1999 Honda Accord from one of the rear brakes. The brake pad had worn through on one side causing the rotor to be ground down. The thing is that it only happened on one side of the car, that is on one wheel, and only one side of the rotor was being worn down. The other side looks ok. It seems that there's some problem with the brake itself, causing one side of the brake to clamp down on the rotor more than it should. Does anyone know what this problem might be?
