Can a high performance chip make a car over heat?
Had it checked at shop and passed all inspections. 94 Honda civic
I have read some pretty horrible things about some of those "performance" chips out there. Basically they just change how the computer tells your engine to mix gas and air which if done wrong can cause anything from misfires to detonation. If you're pumping in too much gas and a large amount is not being burnt then it could be heating up faster.
- How hard is it to chip a car? Hi, so I have a 1986 Honda prelude 1.8L dual carb manual. Would putting a performance chip in my car do anything? And would it be worth it to do? And also how hard to do?
- Why does my car over heat? I have a 2002 Honda civic ex I have had the radiator, water pump, timing chain, and thermostat replaced in it recently. However when ever I drive it over 50 mph it starts to over heat and water is spraying out of the radiator through the top were cap is at. I can drive it all day under 50 mph and it is fine so does anyone have any ideas to why my car is doing this?
- Why does my 94 honda civic over heat but the oil light comes on there's no leaks any where? My radiator over heats the hoes swells but there's no leaks no smoke coming from anywhere the water in the radiator bubbles up when I take the cap off I even put some stuff in it to help cool it down didn't work. I checked the oil looks fine no werid color to it at all. Its no really over heating the engine is hotter then what its suppose to be
- Does High Performance chips work on hybrids? I have a 2007 honda civic hybrid and i was wondering does those performance chips or car performance programers work on hybrids? I heard they give better gas mileage and more power? I need one because my car does have much horse power and the MPG isn't good anymore because i have Performance tires with Honda Civic Si rims.
