Can I put a hyundai accent motor into a honda civic?
Can I put a hyundai accent motor into a honda civic?
With enough money, you can do just about anything.
Going to cost more than buying a used Civic outright as well as buying a used Accent outright.
Design and fabrication are going to cost a small fortune. Nothing will bolt in or mount up, so you will essentially have to make a complete new subframe/engine/tranny cradle, then, the Civic driveline and Accent driveline are different, so you will need custom axles fabricated to go from the Hyundai tranny to Honda hubs.
Then, you will need a custom exhaust, no engine gauges with work, so all that will need to be custom built, all the Huyndai motor wiring will need to be spliced in…
In short, yes it can be done, but will cost much more than two running/driving cars.
A experienced machinist/welder/fabricator will charge about $100/hr and this project will take a LOT of hours!
It is not impossible. But the question is WHY?
Why a Hyundai? You are already better off with the Honda engine already.
I have seen V8 on the Civic which is an upgrade. Yes, but it cost a lot to do.
Ian & "g" are both correct, any mods can be accomplished if you spend enough money at it. The motor would just "drop" in nor just bolt up, this would require many hours of customization by skilled mechanics.
Plus you will never recoup the money you spent, the car would be worth less than a Civic with a Honda engine.
Technically it would be possible, but the amount of modification that would be necessary to do so would be plentiful. Hunt for a Civic engine.
- Can I swap a fi motor into an early 80s honda cb750? Looking to buy a 81 cb750 or around that time frame want to know if I could put a fuel injected motor in it without having to chop and weld alot of stuff, is it possible? Any idea what motors would work best?
- What vtec or honda/Acura motor can I put in my car? I have a 1998 Honda civic DX coupe, 1.6 4 cylinder. I love this car to death, but I want a little more pep… So I wan a vtec motor for it, but i don't know what will fit or what to look up? Does anyone have any ideas?
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
- Honda Fit 2015 or Hyundai Accent 2014? I have read some reviews of Honda Fit 2015 and Hyundai Accent 2014, and Honda Fit keeps coming out on top. It's about $2,000 more though. What do you think? Which car would you choose and why? Do you have one of these cars and love or hate it? Plus, i think i recently read that Hyundai lied about their gas mileage on Accents by up to 6mpg, so the Honda Fit is lookin better yet again…
