Hi what with ice and snow so heavy it would most likely burn out the wiper motor. You expect an awful lot from the wiper motor as it is only meant to cope with water mostly when it rains. So this is what de-icer or your air conditioner is used for to thaw out the windshield from inside. Heat applied from inside the car melts the ice which has formed on the outside.
Depending on how deep the snow is, and how much ice is under it will determine if it wipes it or not. If the wiper is froze to the windshield, you may have to break it loose first to get it to wipe.

All snow conditions vary. The wipers will wipe snow if it is not to heavy. Same is true for any car…
