Can trucks corner better then some cars?

I did a long road trip and I noticed that I could catch some cars in sharp turns, even though they were trying, to go fast. They would then floor it on the flat parts, but I would always catch up to them in the corners.

P.S. I have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 manual

- one car was a Kia Forte
- the other was a Honda Civic

Your Dodge is more powerful, dude, it has nothing to do with cornering. The Civic or Forte can out "corner" and maneuver any model Ram any day, you simply have more horsepower and torque. As far as turning and cornering responsiveness both the Civic and Forte are superior, they are simply not as powerful.

Driving styles. Some people are much more cautious around corners than others.

Smaller cars like the Civic generally corner better than a truck because they are lighter and have a lower centre of gravity. But this relies on the driver being willing to throw the car into the corner a bit harder.

It's possible they didn't feel sure of how fast they can corner. But in the end, it's tires and center of gravity. I don't know what tires they had, but cars generally have a much lower center of gravity which better spreads out the weight on the wheels helping traction during cornering.

Well your truck has 2-4 more cylinders to fire than those cars. Not just in corners man, your truck is faster than their cars flat out. Also what gear you corner in makes you go faster. Automatic trans tend to keep the car in the highest gear it can for best gas milage. You have a lot mode torque when you downshift to a lower gear therefore accelerate way faster

You have a Dodge Ram and going fast on a sharp turn can cause you to flip over, and They will beat you, it's just the drivers who were driving them didn't wanna burn grip on their tires or wasn't a good driver

No. You have a much higher chance of rolling over if you are pushing your truck to the limit.

  • Will Powerflex polyurethane bushings help my car achieve better handling and corner faster? My car is an 03 Honda Element awd and there's a brand called Powerflex that makes polyurethane bushings specifically for each car. In my case, for my front and rear anti sway bars they offer "street" and "race" polyurethane bushings for my Honda.
  • What are the top 5 or so used cars/trucks under $3000 in a CA market? Another words, what are the easiest or most sought after i.e. Camry and Honda are probably two of them, can you name others? Would appreciate if your responses is backed up with experience, i.e. Someone in the business, salesman etc. Or actual knowledge first hand. Nobody is reading the question and answering it…
  • Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
  • Is it better to sell Cheap cars or Expensive cars? As a car salesman? Some people would think cheap cars but people with bad credit get declined often. I know this because my credit sucks and i'm almost always declined for cars. I'm sure this makes it tougher to get a sale right? This has me thinking, i want to sell cars. Should selling luxury cars like mercedes and bmw be better than selling hondas and toyotas?
