Can you put a 97-01 2.3 VTEC prelude engine in a 04 Honda Civic?
I have a 04 Honda Civic and I want to make it a sleeper. So is it possible to put a prelude engine and tranny in it. If it how expensive is it? Jdm engine depot has the engine listed for $499 with 45k-65k miles on it. I have a mechanic that's willing to do the work and teach me along the way. I just want to build a fast civic. I don't want to make a ricer I want to make a fast sleeper. What do I have to buy other than the engine and the tranny? How much am I looking at total? Is there a better engine that I can put into it? I just want someone experienced to help me out. I'm new to this mechanic kind of stuff.
Check that they'll fit first, but I don't foresee much problems. Maybe a little bodywork to fit both engine and transmission in. I saw a guy with an old mini, that had an engine twice the capacity it came with in it… And it fit in the engine bay, barely but it did.
