Car doesn't get any power?
I have a 1991 Honda civic wagon, I had a bad battery, I tried to charge it but it only had enough power to turn on the lights and dash, the lights were dim though… So I decided to change the battery but I connected the wiring terminals so now the car doesn't start
Could be a bad ground, Fuse, Or short in wiring some where.
No power
You have blown a big fuse in the fuse box. It will be one of the large screw in type that you have to remove the terminals to get out, I think that there's about 3 of them. Take them out one at a time and check them with an ohm meter or test light if you know how. If you put the battery in backwards, you probably don't so just have the car towed to a shop.
Replace the terminals but when you do cut the corroded part of the cables.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- I have a Honda 1.4 sport 1999 reg and the revs keep going high but there's little power - any ideas? When i first start it its ok but after 15-20 minutes it starts to over rev and the power seems to drop. Any ideas on what could be causing it?
- New alternator doesn't fit or it really hard to get in to the bracket, what should I do? I have a Honda Passport 1998, and I replace the alternator for it. I did check the new one and the old one, they are just the same. The problem is when I install new one, it hard to get in to the bracket even I try to wiggle and hammer it by wooden block. Should I grind the new alternator? Or is there any good solution for it?
- Does power steering fluid get hot if the car is just running and the steering isn't being used? If the pump is just spinning, recirculating fluid and nothing else… Would it still get hot? I had to bypass the pump from the rack and have the fluid recirculate. Would the pump get hot from just spinning? I know 8th gen Honda's don't have a cooler for the power steering anyways.
