Car jerking at constant rpm while driving?
I have honda civic 1999 exi. During the drive the car shuffles and takes small jerks normally between 2 to 3k rpm speed, i got scanned my car nothing found, get new fuel filter installed and try Hi octane fuel but problem still persists. When i accelerate the car it stops jerking. Any body help?
Added (1). i also cleaned fuel injectors last month
Added (2). please note its a dual fuel driven petrol and and cng as well. When i shift it on cng (compressed natural gas) it runs normally and well without jerky drive. Seems problem with petrol only
Simple enough. Search for a vacuum leak. Efi will. Compensate for the additional air with more fuel so the rpm will surge. Ill bet that you are having a bit of a power loss also.
Sounds like something going on with your clutch, either the throwout bearing or the other parts wearing out causing the clutch to have trouble engaging.
Sounds like a tranny problem if the rpm needle isn't jumping around. Try to listen to your car. Is it only happening in one gear, or all gears?
Put a new set of spark plugs in, they're cheap and easy on this car and a good place to start.
Had problem with car I had iwould bet money on changing plugs plug wires
Its happening in all gears and car tsansmission is manual
Maybe an ignition system problem.
Go to a real mechanic. The dudes at Walmart, Jiffy Lube, Firestone, and Pep Boys are not mechanics. This should not be hard to diagnose and fix!
- Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow? Car was extremely low on gas and I stalled while driving slow. I immediately turned off the car. After 3 seconds I turned the switch and the car started and I drove 1 mile to the nearest gas station. My question is was this stall area from low gas? The car didn't do it again drives great. Its a Honda crv 1998 automatic.
- Honda civic del sol rpm meter jumping at around 4k rpm? My 94 del sol when driven on the highway. After i hit a little over 4 rpm… The needle starts jumping from 4 to maybe 6 but no engine change or high rev. Just the rpm meter and my temperature guage hit cold and kinda bounce up and down at the bottom line. I recently changed my whole distributor for a used one if that help. Any answers would be appreciated.
- Why is there a constant high and low idle on my 92 honda accord during winter? It only happens in winter and it's annoying. You start the car and the rpm rises to about 2000 rpm and drops to 800 and then repeat till the car is like fully war or not. It doesn't happen in hot days. Is it something woth the throttle body?
- What is the rattle in upper right side dash in '01 Honda Accord? Starts at 1 to 2K RPM. Stops. Again at 1-2K RPM? Is the coolant/heat system involved, because on cold days, there's 0 to light vibration. Is this Honda known for vibration of its heater core unit? Or water lines to it. Seems up near the dash firewall. Anyone know of a way to check this without removing the dash, which is close to an all day process.
