Car keeps cranking but won't start?
2004 Honda civic with 248k miles. I tried starting it today but it just keeps cranking and won't turn over. It doesn't stop cranking till I turn the keep back to the initial spot. If I hold it at the starting position it'll just crank and crank and crank. I just got stuff done like spark plugs and all that just last year, new starter last year and a new battery 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Honda no starts are often related to the distributor or fuel supply. I'd tow it to a mechanic & ask to check fuel pressure. If that's ok, check for spark. That will get you in the right direction
Cranking and Turning Over are the same thing. Starting is another. Shoot some STARTNG FLUID in the Intake to narrow it down to a fuel delivery or ignition problem.
Check your fuel gauge, if it shows E then add some fuel.
Otherwise you need to determine if the problem is fuel or electrics related.
If you can smell fuel when you put your head under the bonnet/hood then it's probably electric. No smell of fuel then it's a blockage or failed fuel pump.
Take a plug out, it's its black and oily then clean it and all the others as well. If not it's a fuel problem.
Check to see if you have a spark, if not it's an electrical problem.
You need to start eliminating all the possibilities, once you have done that that you are left with is the cause.
If there are no codes and you want to throw a part at it rather than diagnose the problem I'd try the main relay under the steering column. They are a common failure item. You could also check for spark and injector pulse. If neither are present the crankshaft senor is suspect. Shooting starting fluid into the throttle body after removing the air filter may start the motor. If it does start you need a fuel pump. It's going to get expensive just guessing. You might want to consider going to the dealer.
- I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
- How come my atv won't electric start but will crank if I push start it? 2006 Honda trx. Doesn't have a pull rope only electric start. The starter motor turns over the engine but just won't start but I'll push it down the yard with it in gear and it will fire right up. I'm so confused by this.
- My car won't start but when I try to start it, it sounds like a power drill? I have a 95 Honda Civic and it does not start it keeps making a noise that sounds like a power drill spinning. I have no idea what it is or could be any more. I've pulled the starter and put in a new one and the starter is still not catching the fly wheel. I have even resorted to charging the battery, checking all fluids (transmission, antifreeze, etc.) and putting in 5 gallons of gas but still nothing, can't pay to get it to a shop. Anything helps thanks.

Things I've done so far. -Fuel pump -02 sensor -Spark plugs -Crankshaft sensor -Cam sensor -New Battery
