Car sputtered and died when I started it?

I have a 2002 Honda civic. I've been having a problem where when I start it, it'll stutter for like 2 seconds and then start. This was happening for two weeks but when I was planning to go to school it would stutter and not start. What's the problem?

Sounds like a fuel injector problem. Maybe it is bad, maybe it is just dirty.

Try this- at your next fuel fill-up add either BG bg44 cleaner (about $15 per bottle) or Chevron Techron to the tank. Don't get the cheap stuff from Walmart or Target or whatever. Do this twice, at 2 consecutive and separate fill-ups where you have to do at least a half tank.

EVEN IF the problem disappears with the first treatment do the second one anyway.

If this doesn't work it is time for an actual tuneup and injector INSPECTION at a real mechanic (not a tire place or a muffler shop).

There are many possibilities for a no start and sputtering is not enough to go on. Do a fuel pressure test use the money bikeworks wants you to spend on junk and buy a test kit you can use forever.
