Car Squeal when idoling?
I have a 2004 Honda Civic lx, and after the engine starts to warm up at idol it makes a squealing/rattle noise. Give it a few more minutes and it tends to go away. I was wondering if anyone had any clues as to what could be done to stop this.
Timing belt or. While your at it replace water pump, tensioner, and pulleys. If you don't, it may cause more expensive damages. But since its a civic parts are cheap and probably won't fail. Just have those thing checked up and tou are good to go!
The tightness of the alternator belt is not tight enough so it slips (just like squealing tires when they spin on asphalt… Except the belt is slipping in the alternator pulley.
Serpentine belt is loose…
Dust some body powder on the drive belts. Don't use "belt dressing" sprays. They never work.
Start looking 4 another car.
If it's squealing at idle then most likely the auxiliary belt has either not enough or too much tension, some are adjustable. If it squeals especially at or close to full steering lock as well then there's air in the power steering system which will be fed out over time by itself. It squeals then more because the pump has to work harder at close to and at full lock and so puts greater strain on the belt.
- Will a car dealership work with me if I'm gonna lease a new car, while trading in the car I have, which has an outstanding loan against it? The car I have now has a loan against it which is worth more than the trade in value of the car by about $5000. If me and a family member were BOTH looking to lease a new car (so 2 new cars), does anyone know if a dealership will be working to work with me in any way? Also the cars looking to be leased are not high end or luxury cars, they d be coming from a dealership like Honda, Toyota, or Subaru.

I want to install a new stereo system in my car and see those cars out there with the big screens on their stereos and I want something like that, but I have a 1993 honda civic and am honestly confused on how I would buy something like that and it would fit into the dash of my car. Do I have to buy something the exact same size? Do they come with speakers too? Can anyone give me any ideas on where to start. I'm really confused.
- Can stock car parts of a newer car go into an older car? Have a 2011 suzuki sx4 not driveable. Driving around a 99 honda crv. is it possible to put the deck of the suzuki (already removed) and place into the crv? The speakers are the same size i'm thinking about those as well but is that much of an upgrade?; I can't find the power of the stock speakers to both cars. Thank you, I had a system in suzuki i removed wanting to put in my crv.
- Why does my car squeal in reverse? I'm looking at a 1999 honda civic lx with 190000 miles for $2100. It's a five speed and all in all its in pretty good shape. The only issues were when I was driving it, i couldn't hit the gas hard under 3000rpm, but after I got to 3000rpm I could punch it and it was fine. That's not what worried me. When I backed up i heard a very loud squealing. The guy selling it told me he just had the brakes done. What could it be?
