Car stereo not getting power?
The stereo in my 2000 honda civic ex was acting up. Turning off randomly and turning on randomly. So I bought a new one thinking the issue was with the stereo it's self. Now with the new radio installed and all the wires aligned and ground hooked to the proper bolt it receives no power at all. I checked the fuse and it's fine. So any ideas on what the issue is would be great.
If The fuse is fine, you're either not getting power behind it or after it in the fuse box. You will need a multimeter to check for power. The turning off and on issue sounds like you have a very loose connection somewhere, so that would be where I would start.
Check the power connector not just the point at which the stereo is connected to the wire, but the point at which the wire is connected to the power source. If you've got an amp, then check the power cable to it too.
- What's the best car stereo/speakers to get for this car? My husband has a 1993 Honda Prelude and I wanted to get him a great car stereo or speakers for Valentine's Day. But I don't even know where to start looking. I know someone who can install, but I just need the speakers.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- How much extra horse power might I be getting for my Honda Pilot? I drive a 2003 Honda Pilot, and I have replaced the stock exhaust system with a straight pipe all the way back to a magnaflow muffler. I have also added on a spectre cold air intake. I have noticed a small increase in response time and acceleration. I was just curious if anyone has an educated guess.
- Want to install better car stereo but am confused how to make sure what I buy will fit into my car? Confused? I want to install a new stereo system in my car and see those cars out there with the big screens on their stereos and I want something like that, but I have a 1993 honda civic and am honestly confused on how I would buy something like that and it would fit into the dash of my car. Do I have to buy something the exact same size? Do they come with speakers too? Can anyone give me any ideas on where to start. I'm really confused.
