Carmax quote for 2008 Honda Civic?

I got a quote for my 2008 Honda Civic with 62,000 miles for $10,000 back in April of 2014

at the time I wasn't ready to sell my car but now I'm. My question is how much has my car devalued from 10 months ago from the $10,000 quote they offered me. I went from 62k miles to 67k miles from that time, nothing different has been changed or added to my car since then

Take it back for another quote. For a rough estimate, compare the book values of an 08 and an 09 with the same miles.

The hair in the ointment is the drop in gas prices might have hurt small cars a little.

Understand that almost any Honda dealer would beat Carmaxes quote. Heck, a number of dealers advertise they will pay more than car max for any car. Of course, they all want to sell you a newer car.

Best to keep the car or if you must sell it, find a private party. Although, honestly, that's tough for expensive cars.

The only people who can answer this question are those who gave you the original quote.

If you got a quote without them actually looking at the car, the actual amount they will give will be less. Dealers are skilled at finding every little ding, stain, or ANYTHING that will allow them to drop the value.

You will have to go to CarMax. They value their cars based on supply and demand of the local market. Assuming supply and demand have not changed and figure in normal depreciation, I would guess they offer you $8K.
