Converting an automatic 2013 Honda Civic LX to a manual?
How much would it cost to convert a 13 civic lx to a manual?
Also is it worth adding turbo to an automatic
If you want a manual gearbox buy a vehicle built with a manual gearbox.
If you want a turbo, buy a vehicle originally fitted with a turbo.
Spending that amount of money on a 5 year old vehicle just doesn't add up
Now that I got your attention (haha) is it possible to take a civic lx coupe that has an automatic tranny and switch it with a manual 6 sp tranny from an Si? I just got the car in December and just am bored out of my mind with auto. The speed part of the Si is awesome! ( I used to sell Hondas) but don't feel like dropping 7k just to get out of the upside down situation I would be in if I traded in and opted for an si. It doesn't make sense to me. I would simply like to convert my car to a manual tranny and would prefer the 6 sp. If the r18 platform and k24 trannys aren't compatible then I suppose just swapping to the regular 5 sp would be fine. Stupid I didn't get a manual to begin with. Even more stupid there were none in the state of Colorado except Si when I bought it! What do you guys think? Any help is greatly appreciated. If I get enough advice and direction, I would be happy to post pics and details for all to learn from and see!
Probably easily 20 hours of work. How much does your shop charge an hour? Buying all the parts from Honda is probably a small fortune so finding a wrecked donor car would be ideal. If your budget was starting at $4000 for this swap then it's worth spending a few hours crunching needs and numbers.
Turbo works fine with automatic.
Sell your car and get a car with a manual and a turbo.
Sell your car and get a car with a manual and a turbo. Cheaper, less hassle and you end up with a better result.
Buy the car with a manual. Cheaper and no headaches
Manual engines are usually in a different state of tune t oautos
Autos normally have a different diff ratio too.
Addi ni the chassis management system is usually integrated with the ECU & the tranny controller s othe lot will probably need t obe replaced.
Add in centre console will be different
Add in you'll probably need t oempty the engine bay so you can fit clutcjh pedal etc.
Hell of a lot of work & expense
Not monetarily practical, but anything can be done with enough money.
It will cost exactly 3.782 times more than the car is worth. If you want a car with a manual transmission, sell the car you have now and go BUY one that came from the factory that way.
Switching types of transmissions is very costly and can cost well more than the car is worth. Adding a turbo will add power to the vehicle with an automatic.
- Converting a motocross bike to road legal supermoto? I was wondering how I would go about converting my honda cr 450 to a road legal bike (supermoto) ? I know i need lights etc. How would I get it road registered do I need paper work of my motocross bike? Because I have none.
- Honda Amaze automatic or Hyundai Xcent automatic? Which would be better purely in terms of performance, acceleration, smooth and fast gearshifts and handling, i mean the better drivers car. I know hondas transmission and engines are great, but is the hyundai as good too? Even though the xcent has only 4 gears, i.e. 1 less than the amaze, it has tiptronic, would this by any chance improve the driving experience? I sadly don't have the opportunity to test drive these cars.
- Will starter from an automatic 2000 Honda civic LX fit on a automatic 2000 Honda civic HX? The lx is a 5 gear transmission and the hx is a CVT transmission. With the starter fit? Mine went out on my hx
- Converting 79 Honda XL185 to LED headlight? I have a 1979 Honda XL185s with a new 6v battery. I don't have any plans to change to a 12v system. I've read around that converting to an LED headlight helps out the weak 6v system a lot. My headlight as it is currently is very weak and essentially useless at night. So how do I go about converting the headlight to LED? What steps are involved? What type of LEDs? Any info or suggestions would be great.
