Does econ mode in a 2012 Honda civic really do anything?
I know it shifts sooner and the ac doesn't run as hard or as good.
Not owning one, I have no idea. Perhaps you could do what smart people do. Drive it for a month on eco mode and a month off and compare
It's design is to get better fuel economy.
The biggest variable is always the driver. If you leave it in economy mode but floor it every time you accelerate, the mileage will still suffer.
Assuming you drive it with fuel economy in mind, the econ-mode can help you squeeze out slightly better fuel economy numbers.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.
- For 2016 models in 2015, does it have anything to do with public transportation? - Would a 4 Cylinder Car in Sport Mode be able to accelerate faster than a V6 car in ECO mode? Take the Honda CRV Turbo at 190 horse power 4 cylinder in Sport Mode vs the Oddysey with 285 Horsepower on ECO with a V6.
- Does Sport Mode turn your car into a V8? We have a 2018 CRV Touring Turbo and the guy at Honda said when you press Sport Mode your car will become a V8 -like car. Is that true?
