Driving across country in Honda Civic with cat. Cheap as possible?
I have to relocate in a few months to Philadelphia, PA from Sacramento, CA. I will be driving with one other person and my cat in my 2001 Honda Civic. We plan on driving nonstop as much as we possibly can by taking turns driving and sleeping. I will stop in Utah to spend the night at my uncles, sleep in the car one night, and maybe get a motel one night. If an additional night is necessary I was thinking camping or another night in the car. My cat HATES driving. I took her on a 7 hour drive once and she was devastatingly miserable the ENTIRE time. Second time I had to take her on a one hour drive (to move) she pee'd herself because she was so distressed. I'm extremely worried about her. Another alternative, if I could find a cheap way, would be to fly her. Although it would be stressful as well the time would be shorter and would make sedating her easier. I imagine it would also make the trip go as I plan (less stops etc.) any experience or advice with this? I plan on doing this around October/November. Price is a HUGE factor for me. I have a tight budget to the point where I will be skipping some meals to save.
Problematic situation search over google that could actually help
Here's what I did, but only consider this if price indeed is not a huge factor. Leave your cat with a family member or a friend. Do your drive on your own. Fly back to Philly once you are set up in Sacto. Fly your kitty back. It's a lot easier on your feline to do the 4 hour flight as apposed to the 2,800 mile drive.

- Will my car make it cross country? Can anyone who knows about cars tell me if this is a bad idea? I want to drive to colorado to stay for a few weeks and don't want to fly it will be about.a 1300 mile journey I have a 2002 Honda oddessey tht has 242k miles on it but its been babied its whole life and has a few new parts including a new transmission its seems to drive fine I was just wondering if that seems like a stupid or risky idea to drive it that far
- Honda Odssey seems more comfortable than Town Country, is this true? I was comparing these two vehicles online, and the Odyssey seems to be a better fit. In comfort, in reliablity, quality… Etc. Or am I wrong? What do you think? I know times have passed where both of these vehicles have improved, but… I need all the help i can get!
- Honda Shadow Spirit 750 Across Country, Can it make it? I'm planning on taking my Honda Shadow 750 across the US for about a month, maybe even more. Making stops, camping, all that stuff. I changed my sprocket to a 38t and I just wanted to make sure it can make it that length of time and distance without problems. It has about 18,000 miles on it and I will be getting it detailed before the trip. Any advice would be great.
- Would my car make it across the country twice? I have a 2016 Honda Civic with 10k Miles on it. The month of April (1-2) I'm going from ny-nj. Then April 3-6 from ny to dc. Then from April 15-17 ny to Chicago. Will my car make it or should I not drive that much in one month?
