Dropped a washer screw into the engine compartment near the battery on a Honda Civic will it cause damage? - 1

It's very very unlikely. I'm not going to say no, it never would… Because I have seen some bizarre things. One time I left an entire socket set on a socket rail underneath of the hood of a customers car! I delivered her car after the repair and ended up remembering an hour later and going back and finding some sockets under her hood and had to chase down the others laying in the highway. There's almost zero chance that its going to hurt anything though.

Total nonissue, forget about it.

Depends where it landed. U r sure it didn't just drop to the ground?

Probably not.

If the screw is regular steel, get a flexible stick-magnet, and try to fish it out. Even if you can't see the screw, you can just move the magnet around and the screw may stick to the magnet.

If the screw is aluminum, stainless or brass, the magnet won't work.

Washer screw?

I doubt it. I'm thinking if you need to ask a dumb question like this you shouldn't be under the hood!

No, not likely.

  • Is there anyway to add a motercycle compartment to a volkswagen van? I'm planning a cross country trip in the future with a '73 Volkswagen van. It runs well but I wouldn't want to take it on rough roads so I was thinking about taking my bike with me on the road. It's a 2003 Honda rebel, 250cc. I was wondering if there was anything I could add to my van so I could take my bike with me. Anything helps, thanks.
  • Dropped motorcycle - engine sputters then stops. Later on starts, but stops again? I dropped my 2000 Honda Nighthawk CB750 on its right, picked it up in It was riding fine right after, then about 10 minutes later it sputtered and stopped while riding. Looked like the battery and starter motor were fine, engine just couldn't turn over. About 10 minutes later it started, and I rode for a couple miles. A few hours later I rode it again, but it only lasted about 2 miles before stopping again. I waited a few hours after that it started again. Does anybody have suggestions?
