Engine Ticking? 99 Honda Civic LX?
D16y7 ticking near timing belt? I don't know when the timing belt was done before, the car has 231k miles on it and the ticking sounds kind of like an exhaust leak.
If you have to determine that the noise is the cause near the timing belt, may be the belt or the belt tensioner are in need for a replacement.
- Will and 99 Honda civic lx sedan engine fit in a 99 Honda civic ex coupe? I recently crashed my Honda civic lx and busted the whole frame. The body shops estimated $2,500-$3,500 to fix the damage. I found someone on craigslist selling a 99 civic ex coupe but the motor is messed up so their selling it for $1000 if I were to buy it would I be able to switch my 99 civic lx engine to the 99 civic ex model without any major complications or modifications?
- Will a 95 Honda Civic engine 1.8 fit in a 2000 Honda Civic? Doing an engine swap for my car, the engine went bad so I'm taking it out and about to buy a 1.8 engine from a 95 civic, do you guys know if I can have it fit right in my 2000 civic ex or will I have to change some things? I also live in California
- Can a 16.L engine fit into a 1998 Honda Civic LX? (before doing engine swap)? I had an blown motor on my 1998 Honda Civic LX, I have new spark plugs, distributor cap and some other items, however, since the old spark plugs happened to be melted as well, I have no option other to do a engine swap. I've been doing some research, and it seems like I only have the 1.6L engine as a option. By the way, the blown motor is a D16Y8, and is automatic.
- Won't start not sure if water pump needs replacing or needs new engine? 2004 Honda civic DX 1.7L engine 155k? My car won't start i had to press the gas really hard to get it going before but now it started smoking(white) from under the hood and smelling burnt every time we try and start it up. I saw leaking under the car. Probably the coolant because its blue. Not sure if a new water pump and timing belt would do the job and or if we need to swap the entire engine. Before this I noticed that the engine would get hot or shut off whenever we stopped moving and finally this happened.
