Fuel leak. Mechanic said it's the housing unit?
I took my car into the shop on Friday due to having a fuel smell. They said it is the housing unit that the fuel pump is on. When they called the dealership, they said the fuel pump has to be replaced, not just the housing unit and that my car has more than one pump. Is that possible? My car is a 2001 Honda Civic.
That it a fuel pump module (it consists of fuel pump and fuel pump bracket) "Some cars this is the only way you can get either one. Yours you can get either fuel pump or the module but you can't get the bracket without the fuel pump. Your module is plastic (not the fuel pump) and you can remove the 3 screws in the trunk under the liner should be able to see the fuel tank where the module is located. So either there's a bad o-ring or tank. If my memory serves me correctly the lines under your car are metal (I can't remember if they are plastic or metal over the tank) but I remember replacing a lot of metal over the corner of the civics back in the day
- Mechanic said he rebuilt the engine, smoke coming out of engine, could it be the grease burning off? The mechanic said he rebuilt the engine to my 1974 Honda CB550 I bought from him. Said he rebuilt the engine and is in perfect running condition. He has many bikes lying around and seems as if he is a hobbyist for bikes. He told me that he basically greased up a lot of parts of the motor and it is burning the grease off. The next oil change I do should remove the excess grease.
- Honda crv engine light came on. Had the code scanned. Mechances said to replace distributor? The engine light is on but car still works fine. The light has been on 10 days. Will a new distributor get that light off?
- Lost right front headlight and housing in recent accident for a 2004 Honda Civic. All bulbs intact? Complete housing destroyed including reflector. How much will it cost me to have it replaced at a body shop.
- Are the Honda Civic factory air filter housing boxes interchangable between model years? I have the air cleaner box/enclosurement/housing from a 2005 Honda Civic VP Sedan. I now have a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe, is there any way this could fit or function in the 95 honda for smog reasons? Even if it looks ridiculous and barely fits, is it an interchangable part that can function in a modeL from 10 years prior?
