Help finding my water level gauge?

Re: Honda Civic EX 2004 Sedan

Hello, In the past, I have had to rely on the dealership to help me check water gauge. They showed me how to find it, it is very hard, the markings are dim and not easy to read. This was a long time ago, though I did have my car serviced in the spring, and I do remember, they said they did "top off" the anti freeze.

However, we've been experiencing hot weather here in the NW, with heat wave this week, so I just wanted to reassure myself that I have enough water in my radiator.

Does anyone know an easy way of checking where the water level lines are?

1) Use heavy duty Flashlight? Or do it out in the sun?
2) Can I add just plain water IN THE INTERIM, if it is low, or SHOULD I BUY anti freeze
or
3) Take it to dealership and have them top it off? They've done this for free in the past. But I never know if they will charge me this time, if so, no problem.
4) When they say water level, that also means, anti freeze level, correct? They are one and the same?

2004 Honda Civic.

Thank you very much.

Added (1). The main problem is FINDING THE WATER LEVEL INDICATOR and I just looked I did not find the reservoir.

The 50/50 antifreeze goes into the translucent white reservoir with the black cap.
If you can't see through the plastic any more, then just remove the cap from the reservoir when cold, and look down. Or it can help to slosh the reservoir by rocking, so the shadow of the fluid is easier to see.
If you use a light, put it behind the reservoir, as it is the shadow you want to see.
Buy premixed 50/50 that already is the right amount of water in it.

50/50 mix is ideal but in a pinch, water is fine as long as you are not adding a great deal. The over flow tank sometimes has a dipstick. The water level is a loose term for coolant.

  • How can I stop water from flowing back into my Honda WB30 Water Pump 1100 LPM 80mm Outlet when the heavy duty hose attached gets blocked? I have a 1000l take of water attached to a Honda WB30 Water Pump 1100 LPM 80mm Outlet, alongside a heavy duty hose I use to water window boxes around London. When I park up the van and have to cross the road to water certain jobs, the pipe is occasionally temporarily blocked when a car runs over the hose pipe. This sends water back to the pump, and eventually breaks it. What can I do to stop the water/ pressure breaking the pump?
  • Power steering fluid keeps going below minimum level in my 2015 Honda Pilot? Hi, I drive a 2015 Honda Pilot which I bought in June of this year. Since then, I've had to refill power steering fluid 3 times because it falls below minimum level after a short period. I have not seen any fluid drops on the ground. I will bring the car to the dealership but is there anything I can do besides refilling the fluid again, so I don't have to make tbe trip to the dealership?
  • What level should my motorcycle fuel floats be at? I have a 96 Honda rebel CMXC250 with twin carbs that started leaking gasoline. What level should I adjust the fuel floats to? Please answer my question instead of telling me what else you think is wrong with my bike. And no "google it" answers. Thats obvious but doesn't always work, if you don't know the answer then don't say anything.
  • Buying a new dirt bike. Finding right size I'm 15 1/2, 6ft and 150 pounds and I'm thinking about buying a Honda crf150f dirt bike. A lot of people say I'm too big but I have 0 experience. I hear it's a good learning bike.
