Help on choosing a sub system?
I drive a 2000 Honda Civic Ex with a standard 70 amp alternator. I plan on buying an Optima yellow top battery and keep in mind which ever setup up I go with will be installed by a professional with the correct gauge wires, fuses, etc.
Here are the three set ups I'm looking at.
-Single 10" L7 (2 ohm, loaded enclosure, 600 RMS) with a Kicker CX 600.1 amp.
-Dual 10" CompR (2 ohm, loaded enclosure, 1200 RMS) with a Kicker CX 1200.1 amp.
-Dual 10" CompS (2 ohm, loaded enclosure, 600 RMS) with a Kicker CX 600.1 amp.
Here are my concerns with each one.
-Would a single 10" L7 hit as hard as the Dual CompR/S? (If yes, great! I save space!)
-Do you think my car could handle 1200 watts while still operating the rest of the vehicle efficiently with the Dual CompR on my standard Alternator? Or even 600 watts?
-How well would the Dual CompS stack up against the Single L7 in terms of quality, and how loud it would hit?
I'm really looking for educated answers, but all advice is greatly appreciated!

I've installed more amps in Civic than I care to think about. No. Your car absolutely can't handle 1200W RMS. Even the 600W RMS amp is going to be pushing it. You might see some headlight dimming on bass heavy songs with the volume cranked.
The Dual CompR box is out of the question. In terms of output, assuming all boxes are the same design, the dual 10" CompS box is probably going to be loudest. Though the L7 is square and has more excursion, it's still out-displaced by two 10" CompS's. But it's gonna be pretty comparable either way. Maybe I'm getting old, but I'd take the saved trunk space. The output is going to be pretty darn close, so I'd rather live with one 10" in my trunk than two 10"s. Plus, if you even want to upgrade in the future, slap in another 10" L7… Rather than a 3rd or 4th CompS.
If you plan on adding a second amp for your door speakers, or a larger sub amp, you're going to need a high output alternator. Without a doubt. The yellow top isn't going to do siht for you while the car is running.

- How to bypass a honda chipped key system? I lost my only transponder key to the car, is there a way to use an unchipped key and bypass the system? I want to know if there's a way to bypass the transponder and transceiver system for the ignition? I don't want to spend 125 dollars for a locksmith to come out, and the dealership said they charge 145 and the car has to be there to program the chip.
- What do I need to buy for a booming system in my car? I just got a new 2013 Honda Civic 4 door. I want to put an audio system in that will make my car "bump" while I'm driving. I don't know what subs/amps I should buy at an affordable price that will be compatible and fit in my car. Also, do I have to buy new speakers also? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
