Honda Civic Audio Problem?

The Honda is a Civic 2003, coupe.

The radio appears to be working, but there's no sound coming out of the speakers.
Sometimes the speakers come online, and makes a loud constant noise, with a little sound from a nearby radio station.

The system is stock, original.
The security code was validated.

Is it just a loose connection, or is it something with the speakers/amp?

Mr. Jared, the vehicle is properly described as a 2003 (year is first) Honda (brand is next) Civic (model is next) coupe (trim model and other information next). For some reason US kids insist on doing this backwards. Next, the audio issue. I gather this is "new" set of your "first" car. Congratulations. Mr. Jared, if your best friend approached you with this description as to this car radio could you figure this out? Even an expert, Mr. Jared, can't do this for components of cars need to be inspected, checked, tested, etc. By a technician that can put his, or her, hands on the car. Wires suffer damage from normal wear as heat, vibrations, deterioration, varmint damage, and this is not unheard of, owners that decide to play audio "experts." Of course, the first step with any car system issues is to read the owner's manual. It is a cultural "thing" in the USA for car owners not to ever acknowledge the existence of these valuable sources of information. Who knows if there's a setting or something that has been tampered or has the wrong setting? Once you have that manual's information down pat and the radio has been checked out, then, the Civic needs to go to an car audio shop for repairs. OK? Fair?
