Honda civic cylinder 1 misfire check engine problem?
So I have a 2001 Honda civic with high mileage. Today my check engine light was on and would start flashing for a few seconds then stop. I pulled over to a car repair place and had them run a diagnostic. The code that came up was P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. We replaced the coils and spark plugs thinking that would solve the problem. We cleared the code and then when I was driving home the check engine light flashed for a few seconds then shut off and didn't come back on for the rest of the ride. Why would it come back on and what else could need to be fixed for a cylinder 1 misfire. The car is driving normal.
Swap the #1 injector to #2 cylinder and see if the misfire code become P0302. It does? The injector need to be replaced. The same thing with the intake gasket is leaking at #1.
The valves adjustment are also need to be adjusted, I would do all of them. Do a compression and the cylinders leak down test to confirm the healthy of the engine.
I've got to go now. Do those thing and update the information or send me a message or e mail. Click on my sign on name and you'll see my e mail. I'll reply or check back with the question when I can. HTH
Other causes are#1 fuel injector. PCM driver of that circuit. The wires from the PCM to the coil. Something mechanically wrong with that cylinder. Heres hoping it stays away. CEL flashing is always a misfire.
- Can I unseize an honda 4 cylinder engine without removing engine What I want to do is remove oil pan.disconnecte pistons from crankshaft move them up and down individually. Whichever one is the hardest is going to be the one that needs replaced. Is this possible? Or does all pistons sieze at the same time?
- Honda misfire codes 2001 civic, three of 4 cylinders and random misfire any idea? Car actually runs fairly good but I see the misfire come on while driving I checked compression, seems fine all cylinders new plugs, new air filter, cleaned throttle assembly checked by pulling spark plugs one time no dead cylinder gross check on injectors didn't see anything two cans of injector cleaner 1 can seafoam in gas tank changed oil any good suggestions?
- Cylinder 2 misfire 2014 Honda Civic? Suddenly lost power on my car a few days back. Began accelerating very slowly. Check engine light came on. Ran diagnostic that read cylinder 2 misfire. I figured it was spark plugs since I have been on my original part for 118k miles. Replaced them, cleared my check engine light, and the car ran fine for 5-10 seconds then the same problem happened again. I'm figuring the next step would be replacing the ignition coil to see if that does the trick. Looking for advice first.
